Founded in 1879 by Baptist Pastor Robert C. Buckner, Buckner International has been dedicated from the beginning to addressing the needs of vulnerable children and older adults through Christ-centered values. The organization now serves half a million people each year across the United States and worldwide.
Realizing the changing needs of older adults in Dallas/Fort Worth, Buckner opened its first senior living community in 1954. Since then, the organization has continued to expand to now include six communities, all not-for-profit, throughout Texas. Today, Buckner Senior Living is the second-largest nonprofit senior living provider in the state, with every community designed to enhance the lifestyle of its Members by Inspiring Happiness.
