2019 – Celebrating What’s Growing at Ventana

As it gets closer to the summer 2019 opening of Ventana by Buckner, there’s already so much excitement surrounding the community of members who have signed on for a five-star senior living experience in Dallas.

The community coming together at Ventana is a robust one full of people from all walks of life. The majority already call the Dallas/Fort Worth area home, but future members are also signed on from coast-to-coast. Ventana is attracting prospective members from Carrollton to Richardson, Irving to Plano and from points across the country. The team at Ventana is learning firsthand just how many unique stories 12 stories can hold––it’s a lot, and we’re excited to see this community expand with every new member who chooses Ventana as their Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).

Ventana By the Numbers

  • Currently about 85 percent of apartments are already spoken for.
  • That’s 160 of the 186 apartments that range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom residences that sit in close proximity to the world-class entertainment and cultural programs of the Park Cities and surrounding downtown areas.
  • Of the 265 members planning to make Ventana their home, 70 percent are couples and 30 percent are single occupants.
  • The average age of future members is 77, with many baby boomers also interested in the vibrant and culturally rich environment being built.
  • Summer 2019 is the time this diverse population of people passionate about living well and doing good will come together to start their next chapter in life.

Choosing a Life Care CCRC  is an incredibly personal choice. It’s a process reminiscent of selecting a college to attend or buying a new home. The location has to fit. The amenities should feel special and the community should feel welcoming. Ventana is built for those looking for a luxury living experience within a metropolitan setting. It’s a community with everything you want and anything you need––from a full complement of recreational, culinary and wellness facilities to a full continuum of healthcare services with predictable future costs, for life, for those members whose circumstances may require them.

Whether you’ve already decided a Life Care community is the right choice for you or whether you are still exploring the different options for your retirement lifestyle, here are some helpful resources to answer your questions as you continue with your decision-making process:

Why would I leave my current home?

It’s a common myth that people will continue to live in the same place during their retirement years as they did before. Oftentimes, moving is a major part of retirement. Many choose to relocate to be closer to family members or in closer proximity to an urban environment that can offer them rich cultural resources to explore in retirement. While medical assistance may not be necessary right now, many people like the peace of mind that comes with knowing healthcare services, including assisted living, memory care services, skilled nursing and rehabilitation are on-site if circumstances require them. It’s much more convenient to secure a luxury apartment now than to have to relocate later as care needs arise.

Beyond being a wise investment for now and later, why wouldn’t you want to relocate to a robust community that offers a full menu of services, amenities and health and wellness programs to enjoy? Luxury amenities are setting a new standard in senior living. From salons and spas, heated pools, gardens, movie theaters, arts studios and multiple dining options, among other amenities, you’ll be considering not only a new community, but a new, upgraded lifestyle.

Is a Life Care CCRC like Ventana a wise financial investment?

It’s important to crunch the numbers when discussing a retirement plan to understand monthly fees, entrance deposits and tax benefits that come from living in a Life Care community. If you haven’t already, start that conversation with your partner or family so you can better anticipate your cost of living. This should factor in future health care considerations.
